But bloated storage infrastructure, designed for the pre-virtual age, means that half of servers can’t go virtual. Virsto’s mission is to obliterate the storage barriers to universal deployment of virtual servers. About Mark: Mark Davis has been at the center of the networked storage and virtualization revolutions from their inception. He launched the first Fibre Channel disk array, and was instrumental in building a $2B business at Sun Microsystems. Following a stint as marketing VP at StorageTek, Mark positioned ConvergeNet as the inventor of networked storage virtualization, leading directly to acquisition by Dell for $340M. After a crucial role in the IPO of Evolve Software, Mark worked on multiple storage virtualization projects. Before starting Virsto, he was CEO of storage software vendor Creekpath, where he engineered a successful acquisition by Opsware/HP.
