The moderator for this week’s Under the Radar event is Schlomo Rabinowitz — he’ll be directing traffic at our vlogging evening on February 8, so I asked him to say a few words about himself.
Who are you?
Filmmaker, Bridge Builder, Educator, Videoblogger, Enabler to the Stars.
What do you do with video over Internet?
I communicate, educate, and procrastinate.
Why is video over Internet important now?
With so much media being created on the Internet these days, sites like Dabble will be important in collecting and contextualizing it all. Personal filters, and some way to create those filters easily, are becoming increasingly important.
FireAnt is a directory and aggregator of videoblogs: what more could I ask for? As they stress the “openness” of the videoblog form, they are helping people understand why videoblogs are not just video on a blog.
Remix culture is still in its infancy in terms of collection and distribution with groups on the web. I haven’t seen Grouper yet, but I have heard good things, and I’m looking forward to their presentation at Under The Radar.
