Great find, credit goes to Debbie Landa for pushing on this one and brining it to the surface for the upcoming Under the Radar Office 2.0. Also to read more about what Charlie Wood is up to go to http://globelogger.com/moonwatcher/index.php?id=16

Spanning Salesforce

Founded: 2005

Sector: Office 2.0, Organize, Sync

Headquarters: Austin, TX

Management: Charlie Wood, Principal

Funding: Self-funded

Secret Sauce: Spanningpartners offers integration programs that link common applications and improve the way they work together (aka mashups). The main offering is Spanning Salesforce, through Salesforce App Exchange, which sends RSS feeds from Salesforce.com to desktops. Salesforce users can track their sales, marketing and customer data using any on-demand feed reader, from anywhere. Spanning Salesforce is sold as software-as-a-service, with payments over time and a lifetime option; licensing is also an income generating option on the table.

Mac lovers – here’s one for you – SpanningSync, currently in private beta, provides a two-way syncing function between Google Calendar and Apple iCal. Later this year Spanning Sync for Salesforce.com will launch, allowing a similar synchronization between Salesforce.com and Google Calendar. All of these products strive to attain the transparency of function that allows the user to ’set and forget’ and by offering hosted synchronization, give subscribers more bang for their buck. The vision driving Spanning Partners is to bridge the gap between the ideal world of Web 2.0 and the real world of today.

Seen and Heard: Ismael Ghalimi of IT|Redux states “If there ever was a Web 2.0 killer app for Salesforce.com, this is it”. “SpanningSalesforce delivers a very specific and targeted solution – RSS for anything to everything in Salesforce”, says StartupSquad.
