CardStar Inc., a startup company that provides a loyalty application that enables users to keep their information on their mobile phone instead of plastic cards, has raised $1 million in Series A financing. The round was led by Amplifier Ventures, an early-stage venture capital fund which also provided the initial seed capital in 2009. The round also included Acta Wireless and Cambridge’s LaunchCapital.

CardStar’s app is used in all 50 U.S. states and in 156 countries. The company currently offers an iPhone application that aggregates a user’s various loyalty rewards points in a single location, and plans to use the new funds to expand to the Android and BlackBerry platforms.
