21 Canadian Laws you Need to Know before attending GROW

In preparation for our upcoming Grow Conference in Vancouver, we thought it was necessary to brief all of our attendees on some of Canada’s especially unique laws. We wouldn’t want to have Dave McClure arrested for climbing trees or anything…

1. Comic books which depict any illegal acts are banned.

2. 35% of a radio stations content must be “Canadian Content”.

3. You may not pay for a fifty-cent item with only pennies.

4. Citizens may not publicly remove bandages.

5. It is illegal for clear or non-dark sodas to contain caffeine.

6. Businesses must provide rails for tying up horses.

7. Wooden logs may not be painted.

8. You may never use dice to play craps.

9. If you are released from prison, it is required that you are given a handgun with bullets and a horse, so you can ride out of town.

10. When raining, a person may not water his/her lawn.

11. It is illegal to turn right on a red light at any time.

12. Margarine producers can’t make their margarine yellow.

13. All business signs in the province of Quebec must be in French.

14. If you have a water trough in your front yard it must be filled by 5:00 am.

15. Homeowners are responsible for clearing snow off of municipal sidewalks.

16. The city of Guelph, Ontario is classified as a no-pee zone.

17. The color of house and garage doors is regulated by city bylaws (a purple door get you a fine).

18. You can’t work on your car in the street.

19. It’s illegal to climb trees.

20. It is illegal to kill a sick person by frightening them.

21. It is illegal to pretend to practice witchcraft.

Illegal to turn right on a red light in Canada? That’s not true in Ontario, but maybe it is in BC?!

I wish this conference was in Toronto, so I could attend!

Would be funnier if they were all true but, no it’s not illegal to turn right even in BC. Never mind with the rest of the jargon…
