One notable sound bite: “Joining a startup saved me!” Bob from Boomi said these words when we met for the first time. Coming from the concreteness and security of large, established organizations – the craze of startupville has been a refreshing change. Boomi’s not so young anymore, however…

Today they presented at Under the Radar as a “Graduate Circle” company. Rather than the purpose to be “getting on everyone’s radars” they had 6 minutes to tell the story of how they revved up momentum this past year, and where they plan on going… Below are their presentation slides – and we’ll embed the video shortly so you don’t miss a beat.

Hey guys – awesome show! Very well done. Great content – great networking. I gave you props on the Boomi blog as well.

To amplify on the “being saved” thing, I was remembering how when I left a “big job” with “big corporate” back in 2005 to join a startup there we people who raised eyebrows and thought I was a bit crazy. These days many of those same corporate folks are (unfortunately) out looking for a job after being let go in the latest downsizing and suddenly “have a passion” for working with startups. So I was reflecting to Jasmine how I thought it was ironic that had I stayed with the corporate job, I might be looking with them but it was a startup that offered “job security” at a time when jobs are very at risk… Have no doubt, I totally get how fragile the startup world is as well – but at least I have a lot more control over my destiny…

In any event – again great job guys! See you soon!
